Zoidberg is a case for the LilyGo T-Deck that has been designed to have the smallest bezels feasibly possible (3mm!) with an internal structure that supports and protects the devices components. It does this while requiring no nuts, bolts or screws to construct it.... Zoidberg is much more than a plastic box.

PLEASE NOTE: Zoidberg does not include the LilyGo T-Deck or Battery, as with my other cases these have to be purchased separately. Thats all you need though!

Zoidberg uses a "sandwich" design that includes three main parts, the main body, mid-chassis and back cover. The mid-chassis sit in the middle of the case and protects the battery, preventing it from making contact with the components of the T-Deck, while forming a physical connection between the front and back of the device. This makes Zoidberg feel "solid" with no flex in the keyboard.

Zoidberg can use one of three high quality batteries, two from EEMB and one from MakerFocus that provide 15-20 hours of run time. The use of these batteries is only possible because of the provided adapter cable which I had manufactured in bulk. Links to where to buy the batteries can be found at the bottom of the description.

  • Access to USB-C connector for charging, SD Card slot and reset button
  • Internally mounted power switch button (never falls off, cough)
  • Internal speaker re-located to the side of the device
  • High quality tough PLA+ bioplastic

I also have available an optional antenna designed and made in the UK by PTPlace.co.uk.  This is available in both EU/UK 868MHz and USA/AUS 915MHz variants!  These antenna's are hand made and tuned for the specific LoRA frequency. If purchased with Zoidberg I include a custom collar that hides the SMA connector giving the seamless finish you see in the pictures!

What is PLA Bioplastic?

All our models are printed in a Bioplastic material called PLA (Polylactic acid) that is made from renewable, organic sources such as corn starch or sugar cane. It's classed as 100% biodegradable but is still quite tough and has a melting point of over 170C. It won't deform unless heated to over 70C, but still best not leave a model in the sun for too long!

Why aren't models smooth?

All 3D prints have a texture due to the nature of how they are created, being printed layer by layer. We print using 0.4mm nozzles which allow great detail with a fine texture.
